10 Rough Boulder Opal Specimens, Yowah Queensland, Hand Fossicked, 40–80mm Each

Please note: This item is available for Australian shipping only.

Ten hand selected rough boulder opal specimens from Yowah, South Queensland — personally hand fossicked by Lesley over many years of collecting. At RRP $4–$16+ per individual piece (with some retailing as high as $50 each), this is an extraordinary value bundle for collectors, healers, gem cutters and gifters alike.

About Yowah Boulder Opal: Yowah opals are iconic in the gem world — affectionately known as Yowah Nuts, they often form with a concentrated core or "nut" of opal sitting within an ironstone matrix. You may find beautifully swirling brown matrix patterns, occasional delicate bandings of colour running through in lines or scattered formations, or the classic nut formation visible as a distinct pocket of opal within the host stone.

Why So Affordable? These specimens are primarily opal matrix — gorgeous brown swirling patterns without strong colour flash. Pieces with significant colour flash are individually listed at a much higher price point. That said, these will cut and polish beautifully, revealing stunning natural patterns. Some may be gem cutting quality, though most are ideal for collectors, healing work and display.

Note: All pieces are supplied in the rough. Any tumbled images are shown as an example of their potential only.

Metaphysical Properties: Opal is said to increase psychic awareness, spontaneity and sensitivity, calm overwrought emotional states and bring joy and creativity. It draws hidden emotions gently to the surface for resolution and healing. A collection of varied gems like these can be held during healing work, each stone activating as needed, while others remain quietly in reserve.

Place in a bowl of water and allow the energy-infused water to gently evaporate throughout your home.

Important Information About Our Gems, Minerals & Fossils

 About Our Specimens
All items and gem names are described as accurately as we believe. Please note that many specimens are from our private collection and may be eye-identified rather than gem-tested. While we endeavour to be as honest and accurate as possible, occasional human error may occur in identifying the correct mineral, and we cannot be held accountable for this. We always encourage you to review the images carefully before purchasing.

All photographs are original to the actual item. Any defects or concerns will be clearly noted in the description or shown in the images.

 About Our Fossils

Lesley is a fully qualified Gemmologist and teaches both Gemmology and Esoteric Gemmology. However, she is not an expert in fossils. The fossils in our collection have been professionally assessed and the recommended titles have been used to the best of our knowledge. As such, fossil identifications cannot be guaranteed as fully accurate, and any sale is offered on this basis as general information only.

 About Our Collection
Many of our pieces come directly from our showroom or our private family collection.

Lesley’s father operated Minex — one of the largest mineral businesses in Australia — with factories around the world and an extensive personal collection. He attended all of the major world gem and mineral shows, bringing back only pieces that were truly special. Many of the treasures in our collection come from this beautiful legacy.
